DANNY PELLETT
My ethos is to make driving lessons fun and enjoyable whilst being safe and understanding the dangers whilst out on the roads.
I have always been involved in training in my different careers starting with 13 years experience in the engineering sector. I was the training manager at a large local engineering company which is where I first realised my passion for training and developing people.
I then changed my career path and became a police officer. I spent 16 years in Sussex Police with six of those years training and developing new recruits. The training I received for this post was invaluable and it taught me that everyone learns in different ways and it is important to tailor the teaching to suit the individual and not just stick to a rigid format.
I have obviously been trained to a higher than normal driving standard being a response officer which is invaluable knowledge which I pass onto my students.
I have now moved onto being a driving instructor. To me, this is the perfect job as I can enjoy the two things that I am passionate about, driving and teaching. I was graded as an A grade in my most recent check drive with the DVSA which is there to ensure we are delivering the correct training in the correct way.
As I said before learning to drive needs to be fun as well as serious. I am relaxed and easy to get on with which helps new drivers to curb their nerves and to quickly start to develop their driving skills.
